GROWING IN CHRIST JESUS
INTRODUCTION
Once we give our lives to Jesus Christ, there are certain characteristics that we must possess. God want us to be perfect even as He is perfect( Mat 5: 48). A new born again Christian is like a new born baby that needs to grow. Whenever a child refuses to grow as expected, the parent will not be happy. Likewise God is not happy with any Christian who refuses to grow.

 1 Peter 2:2

“As newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby
A new born baby can not eat solid food, he will start from taking milk and always desire to take more. So also the new born again Christian should desire to feed on the sincere milk of the word of God for he/she to grow.
How to grow in Christ
a.     Read the Word of God Constantly. Anybody that want to grow in Christ must be reading the word of God constantly. Every thing needed for us to succeed is embedded in His word. 
Joshua 1;8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Reading the scriptures regularly is not negotiable by all Christians because embedded in it are secrets to success and growth. Reading the word of God and do according to what is written therein will make us grow physically and spiritually (success).
In order to achieve this, we must have special times for the word of God in our homes, and individual lives. Some of the ways to improve our scriptural reading are as follows:

1.  Reduce the non profitable engagements that distract us from heavenly assignments. Eg watching movies that does not edify spirit.
2. Stop engaging yourself in time wasting discussions and arguments.
3. Stop clubbing and unlawful gathering and party. Start to attend Bible studies and fellowship.
