Testimonies of John the Baptist about Jesus as the sacrifice used for remission of sin

JESUS AS THE SACRIFICE USED FOR REMISSION OF SINS; SCRIPTURAL EVIDENCES
1.        Testimony by John the Baptist. John the Baptist was the prophet that came to prepare the way and the mind of people for the coming of Messiah. He was just a few month older than Jesus Christ. His mother was Elizabeth the relative of Mary, mother of Jesus Christ. In Luke 1:36 The Angel told Mary about the pregnancy of John the Baptist. It was also recorded that the spirit of the Lord came upon Elizabeth when Mary went to visit her.
Luke 1:41. And it happened when Elizabeth heard the greetings of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with Holy             Spirit.
            42. Then she spoke with loud voice and said, blessed are you among          women and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
            43. But why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come          to me.
At this time of visitation, Elizabeth was already 6 month pregnant with John the Baptist and when the Mary came visiting, John also recognized in the womb that his Lord was around and he leaped for joy: So from the womb John testified.
There was need of someone to prepare the way for the Messiah that was why God sent John the Baptist before Jesus which John also testified to it. God who sent John told him that anyone you baptize in water and you see heaven opened on Him and you hear my voice declaring Him as my only begotten son, that is the one who will take away the sins of the world and baptize with holy Ghost and fire (John1 :29-34).
John 1:29 The next day john saw Jesus coming toward him and said   Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

John saw Him and testified to His heavenly assignment. Jesus Christ was regarded as the Lamb presented for sacrifice to take away the sins of the whole world. Some people in their own opinion argued He wasn’t crucified trying to deceive many from this truth. We will see how the prophet before the birth of Jesus Christ regarded Him as a lamb taken to be slaughtered as we dig deep in the scriptures.

Let me also quote the commonest Quran verse the Muslims use to argue that Jesus was not killed but was replaced by another person.
            Sura 4;157-158
They (the Jews) said (in boast), we have killed Christ Jesus son of Mary,     The messenger of Allah-but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it     was made appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubt,   with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for surety they    killed him not- Nay Allah raised him up unto Himself.

I can see human manipulations of the message of the cross in order to deceive a lot of people but I thank God there is still remnant of the truth about the death and resurrection of Jesus in the Above mentioned verse of Quran Allah raised him up unto Himself .

Let us hear from Jesus mouth himself according to Mathew who was Jesus disciple

Mathew 20:17-20. Now when Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. He took   twelve disciples aside and said to them,
            18. We are going up to Jerusalem and the son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priest and the teachers of the law. They will condemn Him to death 19 and will turn Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged  and crucified and on the third day He will be raised to life.
Also Mark said the same thing
Mark also gave his testimony about what he heard from Jesus directly in   Mark8:31 He then began to teach them that the son of man must suffer   many things and be rejected by the elders. Chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed after three days rise again.

Allah raised him up unto Himself .This statement is actually talking about resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ as it was written concerning Him in the scriptures. If He was not dead how will God raise Him to Himself? I am sure there are a lot of manipulations in this truth but thank God for the traces of truth for those that are ready to hear.

The Prophet Muhammad was later warned in Quran chapter 10 not to doubt the message of the truth.
            Quran 10:94
So if you are in doubt (O Muhammad) about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, So never be among the doubter.

Looking at this Quran verse we can see how the human nature can fight against God’s. He actually doubted after receiving some unbelievable things he claimed was revealed to him by God. He was asked to ask the people reading the scriptures before him. The question is that what was the scripture before Quran? The answer is the ” BIBLE”.

Qurian 3:3 Sahih Internatinal: He has sent down upon you (O            Muhammad), the book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He    revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

Ysuf Ali translation: It is He who sent down to thee ( step by step), in truth,  the book confirming what went before it; and He sent down the law ( of  Moses) and the Gospel( of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and   He sent down criterion ( of judgment between right and the wrong).

Considering these two translations of the Quran 3;3 It is very obvious that when Muhammad claimed the Angel Gabriel was revealing the message to him, he was told that it was God who sent down the law of Moses and the Bible, the gospel of Jesus Christ to guide human race. How come you find it difficult to believe the words of God as it written in the Torah (bible).

Almost all the prophets prophesied about the birth and the death of Jesus Christ before He was born. If truly he was asked to ask the people reading the scriptures before him I think it is high time you began to take note of possible human influences in the message of the truth as you have been taught. Find out the truth by yourself by doing what Prophet Muhammad was told to do to know the truth.

Later we will discuss the prophets in Torah who prophesied about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ , the purpose of His death and the type of death
